Looking back at the prelim task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

I think that since my Preliminary task I have picked up a lot of skills and learnt how to make my video look more professional and have a powerful cinematic effect to give it a high quality look. It is quite obvious that my preliminary task isn't as good as my main task, although this maybe because of many different factors I think that I have strengthened my editing skills and have realised that I must be very detailed in my objective of specific shots and retake the shot as many times as needed. I have learnt that I do not need to take as many establishing shots as I did in my first two versions of my final film and preliminary exercise because the audience get bored of establishing shots if they go on too long. When I was shooting my preliminary task I was shooting in Auto mode with autofocus, for my main task I realised that to achieve specific results I must use Manual mode with manual focus. I used Manual mode because I wanted my videos to be slightly darker exposure to give a more dramatic and suspenseful look and I used manual focus because I didn't always want anything in focus, for example when the character in my film walks towards the camera, he stops in the focal length to see his eyes clearly, so before the shot I manually focused the lens where the character would stop and leave it there so when the character walked into the specific spot I had focused on, the characters face was in focus. For preliminary task I also used a drone but when I was shooting that day it was only my third time using that drone so my experience flying it was limited. When I came to record the drone shot in the main task I had learnt a lot about how to control the drone and how to make the shot look as good as possible, I made sure that I was flying slow and stable enough that the footage wasn't shaky.
